Following the devastating earthquake of May 2012 in Emilia Romagna, the municipality of San Possidonio (MO) urgently needed a new primary school to restore normalcy for its young students. This project marked one of the earliest instances where we applied a DfMA approach, even before the term became widely recognized in the industry.
Our Scope of Work
Here, you’ll find the engineering foundation behind this primary school. Take a journey through the technical efforts driving our designs.
The original structure showcased the flexibility and efficiency of timber, enabling rapid assembly and high performance. Later, we worked on two horizontal extensions, seamlessly integrating them into the existing building. These additions highlighted timber’s adaptability and reinforced its value in both initial constructions and modifications.
Working under tight deadlines, we completed the structural analysis and production drawings in record time, ensuring the project’s success and providing a safe, sustainable space for education in the heart of a community rebuilding itself.
